Brackets
for Fixed Panels
and Operable Transom Brackets
Small
Wall Mount Bolt-Through-the-Glass Brackets
Further down see the Full Sized Bolt through the Glass Brackets
Choices are Square, Beveled and Contoured
to match styling of the hinges. All are roughly 2"
x 2"
|
|
Top Row
are the most common: Square, Beveled, and Contoured.
We
like to use these when there is a door hanging on the side
panel with glass to glass hinges. These clamps provide support
for the panel without having to wait for the silicone to dry.
When
using Bolt-Through-The-Glass Brackets you can apply a Bulb
Seal to the edge of the glass between glass and tile,
thereby eliminating the need to silicone. The job goes quicker,
less messy and less possibility of mildew attack later on.

ADJUSTABLE
WALL MOUNT
Shown at right. Sometimes showers are built by even
experienced contractors with walls that are not at
90° to the glass. If the wall is 45°, we have
ground down a 135° GtG bracket shown below, but
now there is the ADJ037. |

| MINI
- BRACKETS |
Mini-
Brackets require no hole in the glass. They can save
you hundreds of dollars. We use these quite often with good
results. The
glass must be siliconed in place. See Instructions.
We set the glass in dry, on clear plastic setting blocks and
then silicon around the edges and into the and under the mini
brackets.
With a corner
shower, use the Sleeve-Over
Corner Clamp at the top of the corner. See below. |

If
the door hangs on the side panel, you can still used
mini-brackets but the side panel must be siliconed and the silicone
must set for two days before hanging the door |

Sleeve-Over-Corner
Brackets
Similar to Minibrackets
No Holes required |
Sleeve-Over Corner Brackets
We use them all the time with minibrackets. They are about
the same size and require no hole. They have set screws to
tighten down on the glass, which holds glass in place while
silicone dries. (Remember to leave 1/16" between panels.)

Wall
Mt. Brackets with Offset Leg
Easier installs.
Choices are Contoured, Beveled, Rounded Cornered, and Cathedral
There seems to be no Square version.
These are certain 90° Corner Brackets with one plate removed.
|
These
Brackets make installation easier. They also are good if your
panel goes to the ceiling and your ceiling is drywall.
These are
just 90° Glass to Glass Brackets with one plate removed.
Matching Mounting screw to wall is included.
Another
good thing about these is that they do not require a notch.
A hole is fine since the screw is not right under the glass.

| Full
Sized Wall Mount OFFSET Brackets |
Full
sized Brackets are the same size as the hinge. They
match in particular the Offset Backing Plate. If you have
a door and panel these are a good choice. They generally require
two holes in the glass.
They can
also be used as shelf clamps but the glass would have to have
two holes.

90°
CORNER BRACKETS
Alternative is the Sleeve-Over Corner Bracket above |
90°
Brackets are for corner showers or anywhere you have a 90°
end panel.
These securely
hold the end panel but require holes which are more expensive
than the sleeve over corner
brackets which require no holes.
Between
panels we leave 1/16" for silicone. With less than 1/16"
the silicone will develop unsightly bubbles.
A
Nice Trick: With a securely fastened corner, like
these brackets provide, you can dispense with the silicone.
Use a bulb seal instead for an even easier and less messy
installation.
Also included
here are the full sized corner brackets.

| 135
Degree Brackets |
135°
Corner brackets hold two panels at 135°. These
would occur if you have a neo angle and the door is wall mounted.
You can also use the sleeve-over
corner bracket but then the joint must be caulked with silicone.
As per usual,
there exist square, beveled, and contoured. See also the Page
of Seldom Used Brackets for Catholic, and flat shapes, as
well as a few for 1/4" glass. |

| Transom
Brackets |
Operable Transom Brackets:
Very simple
pivot, basically a flat nylon washer is added to the wall mount
and a small bolt with washer to the glass to glass. The
unique pivot is the 135° pivoting transom bracket, which
is flat with rounded corners. |

SWIVEL BRACKETS |
These
are really awesome. We have glass-to-glass mounts and glass-to-wall
mounts for all sorts of applications.
Caps for
glass are either surface mount or flush caps which require
a countersunk hole in the glass.
