Louisville
Kentucky produces Slumped Art Glass in record times and for
prices low enough for the real American to afford.
Slumped
glass is made by fabricating regular annealed glass, which
can be 1/4" to 1/2" clear
or Starphire or tinted glass. It is then placed in a kiln
over a mold and heated to about 1200 degrees F. When the glass
has melted or slumped into the mold then somehow the hinge
and handle areas are pressed flat and then it is cooled and
then it is placed in another furnace for tempering. It is
a complicated process.
With
Chrome standard hardware a 28" x 72" Door would
be right around $1600 delivered to Berkeley.

IMPORTANT:
Creating art glass is a manufacturing process where each piece
is unique. No two pieces of art glass are exactly the same.
Custom sand patterns are truly one of a kind. The buyer acknowledges
that they give the manufacturer artistic license in the final
product when it comes to custom patterns. Please consult your
dealer for more details about the manufacturing process and
how to order custom patterns.
