UnFolded - 50"
Plenty of coverage for showering in a 5' tub.
Operation is smooth and secure.
Safety Pin on the roller prevents the door from coming off the track.

Folded up: completely out of the way.

ADVANTAGES over Swinging Door

1. 50" Door is no problem. Swinging doors can be up to 39" with expensive hinges.

2. The Bi-Fold folds up against the wall for full access to the tub. Swing doors are not wide enough to block over spray and require a fixed panel.

3. Minimal wall space. A 50" Bi-Fold door only requires 10" on each side of the centerline, which is probably 7 or 8" on each side of the curb. Swinging Doors often hit the sink or toilet.

4. Real Estate is expensive. 2 - 30" wide swinging doors take up 10 square feet of your bathroom. In San Francisco, real estate costs $750/s.f. That's $7500 of your house, which, if you install a Bi-Fold Door, can be used for other things. The door might cost $800 to $1500 or $2000 installed, but you save $7500. Can you afford to not follow this logic?

5. Flexible design. We can make a two panel Bi-Fold for shower door openings. We can make a Bi-Fold for a corner shower with a fixed end panel.

6. Water on the floor. Does water dripping off the swinging door onto your floor bother you? We can make the Bi-Fold Door fold up to the inside of the shower, if the opening is small enough.

7. Wheel Chair Access. The Swinging door is difficult to open from a wheel chair and there is a limit to the width. The Bi-Fold can easily handle 50" width and opening it is easy, since it folds up to the side and doesn't swing right into your face.

8. Kids like to take baths. It is unpleasant to have most of your access to the tub blocked by fixed panels and swinging doors. The Bi-Fold Door folds up completely out of the way giving you full access to the tub with nothing on the edge or curb.

ADVANTAGES over Sliding Tub and Shower Doors

1. Access. Sliding doors allow less than 50% access to the tub or shower opening. The Bi-Fold can allow nearly 100% access.

2. No sharp metal. The Bi fold has nothing on the curb or sill or edge of the tub. If you want to lean over the edge to clean or bathe your young child, it can be dangerous and unpleasant to have sharp ridges of metal pressing into your elbows.

3. Safety. 3/8" tempered glass is unbelievably strong. Our company picture on our home page shows all of us standing on a piece of heavy tempered glass supported on two edges only. Thin glass sliding shower doors are very breakable and relatively unsafe when compared to heavy glass showers.

4. Great Looks: American style sliding shower doors have lots of aluminum all around the opening. The Bi fold has small hinges and a header with one roller and that's it. It is a very clean modern look.

5. Clean. No jambs or Sill track to collect soap and so forth. No strips of ridged metal that literally can't be cleaned. There is also no flat header to collect dust. The header of the Hydroslide Bi-Fold is round and easy to clean. The Exposed Stainless Roller Bi-Fold is also easy to clean.
