BI-FOLD SLIDING SHOWER DOORS
Wilson Glass has been developing our Bi Fold Designs for a number of years.
We are one of the very few who offer a real frameless multi-panel bi-folding shower doors and tub enclosures.
Escape freezes the animation. Refresh starts it up again.

We have two Versions. Shown at right is the Hydroslide Header and Roller. Scroll down for the Stainless Exposed Roller Version.

Hydroslide is simpler than the all-stainless version shown below. We feel it is a good choice for smaller showers where there is not enough room for a swinging door.

ADA access for wheel chairs is unsurpassed by any other shower door design. These doors can be made up to 50". We have supplied wider doors but there is no guarantee on the operation.

No swinging door can be 50".

There is nothing fastened to the curb. When folded a 3 panel door is about 3" thick. That leaves 47" or so to roll a wheel chair through.

See below for our stainless steel version.

The Wilson Stainless Bi-Fold Shower Door and Bi-Fold Tub Enclosure

The Double Swivel Stainless Roller and our unique bi-folding hinges make this door very strong and a delight to use.

Notice there is nothing on the curb when the door is folded. This is wonderful for families with young children. Or really any one that actually likes using the tub. Why suffer with sharp angular sill threshold metal strips full of mildew and soap scum? Our Design leaves your tub untouched by drills, caulking, or metal of any kind. People say it's like a miracle.

Right now the 50" wide door which acts like an oversized partition for your tub, costs $1200.00 plus shipping. .

ADVANTAGES over Swinging Door

1. 50" Door is no problem. Swinging doors can be up to 39" with extremely expensive hinges. Typically even 36" doors have problems when hinged to the wall. And a 36" door is not quite wide enough to block over spray especially if you remove the water conservation restriction valve per that Seinfeld episode.

2. Our Bi-Fold folds up against the wall for full access to the tub. There is nothing on the edge of the tub or the floor if installed in a wheel chair accessible shower.

3. Minimal wall space. A 50" Bi-Fold door only requires 10" on each side of the centerline, which is probably 7 or 8" on each side of the curb. Swinging Doors often hit the sink or toilet.

4. Real Estate is expensive. 2 - 30" wide swinging doors take up 10 square feet of your bathroom. In San Francisco, real estate costs $750/s.f. That's $7500 of your house, which, if you install a Bi-Fold Door, can be used for other things. The door might cost $800 to $1500 or $2000 installed, but you save $7500. Can you afford to not follow this logic?

5. Flexible design. We can make a two panel Bi-Fold for shower door openings. We can make a Bi-Fold for a corner shower with a fixed end panel. See below for pictures of the four panel we just installed.

6. Water on the floor. Does water dripping off the swinging door onto your floor bother you? We can make the Bi-Fold Door fold up to the inside of the shower, if the opening is small enough.

7. Wheel Chair Access. The Swinging door is difficult to open from a wheel chair and there is a limit to the width. The Bi-Fold can easily handle 50" width and opening it is easy, since it folds up to the side and doesn't swing right into your face.

8. Kids like to take baths. It is unpleasant to have most of your access to the tub blocked by fixed panels and swinging doors. The Bi-Fold Door folds up completely out of the way giving you full access to the tub with nothing on the edge or curb.

ADVANTAGES over Sliding Tub and Shower Doors

1. Access. Sliding doors allow less than 50% access to the tub or shower opening. The Bi-Fold can allow nearly 100% access.

2. No sharp metal. The Bi fold has nothing on the curb or sill or edge of the tub. If you want to lean over the edge to clean or bathe your young child, it can be dangerous and unpleasant to have sharp ridges of metal pressing into your elbows.

3. Safety. 3/8" tempered glass is unbelievably strong. Our company picture on our home page shows all of us standing on a piece of heavy tempered glass supported on two edges only. Thin glass sliding shower doors are very breakable and relatively unsafe when compared to heavy glass showers.

4. Great Looks: American style sliding shower doors have lots of aluminum all around the opening. The Bi fold has small hinges and a header with one roller and that's it. It is a very clean modern look.

5. Clean. No jambs or Sill track to collect soap and so forth. No strips of ridged metal that literally can't be cleaned. There is also no flat header to collect dust. The header of the Hydroslide Bi-Fold is round and easy to clean. The Exposed Stainless Roller Bi-Fold is also easy to clean.

VIDEO SHOWS THE HYDROSLIDE BI-FOLD with a fixed panel.

At Right is Dave Bishop's Corner Tub Enclosure.
Four Panel on one side and Two panels on the end.
A DOUBLE DOUBLE Bi-Folding Tub Enclosure. We used magnetic vinyl strips in the corner. The track is supported by a rod that goes to the ceiling. When the doors are folded they take up little wall space and there is nothing on the edge of the tub. A bath can be enjoyed as if there were no shower door in the room. What shower Door?
Six Panel of glass. Six wheels. Twelve Hinges. Welded corner track in one inch diameter stainless steel.

Please call for prices. There are many options. We have polished stainless steel, chrome, brushed nickel and brushed stainless steel. There is a possibility of Oil Rubbed Bronze and brass. You can get a two panel, or three panel or four panel Bi-fold with possibly an end panel.
