Hole Locations for Small Rectangular Patch Fitting

The above dimensions works fine for 3/8" tempered glass.
A 5/8" hole would have to be relieved as below.

The hole allows the clamp to tighten down more on the glass. The glass does not hang from the hole. A U-Shaped slot in the glass will also work but tempering plants charge more for that.
