With ceiling
mount hangers the door can be as close to the wall as you
want, and as close to the ceiling. With single doors, the
hardware is visible from the outside of the door.
With double
door hanger, the doors are over 3" apart. But with two
sets of single door hangers, the doors can be as close as
you want.

Here's the story: We are working on this
system. Right now we have the Half Round track, which is
a solid bar of stainless sawn in half.
But we're going to get larger bottom rollers as well as
a lined upper U-channel for 3/8 x 1/2" glass. This
would be useful for situations where the door has to travel
further than 98% of it's width, which would make it come
out of the normal bottom guide.

|
Direct Rollers allow the door to come within a fraction
of an inch of the ceiling.
|
Using
both top and bottom roller requires using a track that is
drilled and countersunk.
We have
track that is pre-drilled and track that is un-drilled. Using
the pre-drilled track makes installation easy except that
you need to have backing behind the sheet rock. And you have
to replace the sheetrock with something uncompressible under
the bracket.
Using the
undrilled track allows you to mount the hangers where you
want - on the ceiling, but then you either have to drill and
counter sink the track yourself or use only rollers on the
top of the track.
